Blogger Stephanie Sterjovski’s Wedding Day

Original Source:–wY88/

It was pretty obvious from her bridal shower brunch that Steph of SS LIFE + STYLE’s wedding was going to be incredible. And sure enough, this blogger-turned-bride pulled in all right vendors – Ryan Ray Photography, Melissa Andre Events and Sweet Woodruff, just to name a few – to marry her love, Neal with the celebration of their dreams. Scroll below for a glimpse into their heart behind the day.

“We chose each other every day since our

first date and 8 years later we walked down the

aisle to choose each other once more.”

-The Bride

“We believe the meaning of marriage goes beyond a

beautiful wedding, and it is by grace that we were

standing there that day. It was important for us

to carry this throughout all of our details.”

“Neal and I had a moment looking around at

everyone having a great time on the dance floor

and so much gratitude came over us.”

Luxury Venue

From the Bride…Neal and I met the summer after we graduated high school. We were turning 18, and off in two different directions. He was off to St. Catherine’s to study accounting, and I stayed in the city to pursue a career in fashion. This is the part where most young love fizzles out and they meet someone new, but from the day we met, we knew we were in it for the long haul. We chose each other every day since our first date and 8 years later we walked down the aisle to choose each other once more. Coming from different cultural backgrounds, we had our challenges along the way, but our newfound faith brought us closer and gave us strength to overcome them. We got baptized together, and Neal went above and beyond during a gorgeous sunset in Santorini, Greece last summer, proposing on the rooftop of a church asking me for forever. I delightfully said, “YES!”

Our wedding took place on Sunday July 3, 2016 in a beautiful historic castle called Casa Loma, located in the middle of our city of Toronto, Canada. We thought an evening ceremony would be romantic on the weekend of our first date anniversary. The castle had a beautiful conservatory; with stained church windows gorgeous light poured into, and we knew it would be perfect for our ceremony. Our faith is one of the most important things to us, and we really wanted that to be present on our wedding day. We believe the meaning of marriage goes beyond a beautiful wedding, and it is by grace that we were standing there that day. It was important for us to carry this throughout all of our details. We were married in front of a large white wooden cross my father built for us, which was such a special part of our ceremony. We weren’t married in a church, but we felt the presence of God in that room and having our Pastor officiate, surrounded by all of our family and friends we love so dearly.

Neal and I love the classics, and thought it would be fun to ask our wedding party and all of our guests to dress in black or white. It felt silly at first to give a dress code, but in the end everyone had so much fun with it and the photographs of everyone together looked absolutely gorgeous! It tied in to our black and white palette perfectly.

Neal wore an incredible Tom Ford tuxedo, with our wedding date and his full name stitched inside the jacket. It’s not everyday you get to wear a Tom Ford tux, and he was absolutely beaming from the moment he put it on.

My dress was an adventure! I knew I wanted full-length sleeves and a deep-V scalloped open back. Locating this dress of my dreams I had pinned over and over presented some challenges. That’s when I put my fashion background to use and decided to customize a simple strapless dress I found at a bridal shop in Toronto. I knew it would be original and one of a kind and that made me excited to start the process. Many fittings and customization appointments later, my dress came to life. I was so happy with how it turned out and being able to be apart of the creation, picking out lace, creating the sleeves etc. Was definitely special.

When it came to our bridal party, we just wanted to have our two closest childhood friends up their with us. They have stood by us from the very beginning of our relationship and it was really special to keep it small and intimate, like the rest of our wedding. Our niece and nephews were our flower girl and ring boys – the cutest trio! The Ring Boys wore little tuxedos, and our flower girl dawned a gorgeous flower crown created by Sweet Woodruff and a J. Crew diuponi silk dress with ballet flats.

My maid of honour, Paulina wore a gorgeous Badgley Mischka floor-length gown with a delicate train. I wanted her to have a revealing deep-V back to match my wedding gown, and I love that hers had an oversized bow to punctuate it! It was simple, classic and absolutely elegant. Neal’s Best Man Andrew got a custom tuxedo made tailored to him from Harry Rosen here in Toronto. He also got a custom monogrammed stitching on the inside of his jacket.

We had candles created by Kayla Bombardier for our giveaways customized with a bible verse we included in all of our wedding stationery: We Love Because He First Loved Us 1 JOHN 4:19. We also gave away custom matchboxes in black and white.

After the ceremony, we went out into the garden with our photographer Ryan Ray to capture family photos and our wedding portraits. He was so incredible to work with, his love for people shines through his work. We flew Ryan in from Dallas, Texas and got even more acquainted with him when he did our Newlyweds shoot at home three days before we were married. We weren’t living together at the time, so playing house for the shoot was the best way to get warmed up for wedding weekend!

During our wedding portraits, our guests enjoyed hors d’ouvres and a signature cocktail on the terrace of the castle with a performance by a violinist, which was brought in by our DJ, Bello Sound. Following cocktail hour and portraits, our guests were brought into the Library for the reception to commence. We entered and had our first dance to Justin Timberlake’s “Until The End of Time.” Anyone who knows my husband, knows how much he loves JT. We loved this song from the start of our relationship, so it just seemed perfect for our first dance.

After dinner, we cut our delicious red velvet cake, sipped champagne and made our way to the dance floor for traditional Macedonian dancing, Bollywood jams and all of our favorite old school and current hits. We had the best time dancing with all of our guests. Neal and I had a moment looking around at everyone having a great time on the dance floor and so much gratitude came over us. We are so thankful to this day for everyone involved who came together for us, and loved on us all throughout our relationship and our wedding day, both guests and vendors. We feel immensely blessed and these beautiful photographs will always remind us of how good God is.

Grace Kelly Style Wedding Inspiration

Original Source:

Grace Kelly: one name, two words, total elegance. Add in a team of talented vendors and you’ve got yourself absolute wedding day perfection. With The Wildflowers and the helm and Kayla Barker Fine Art Photography capturing every look from Brittany Jones and bloom via Bows and Arrows, we’ve got every gorgeous bit waiting for you to favorite in The Vault!

From The WildflowersWith a venue like Bass Performance Hall, any wedding becomes magical. Fort Worth’s opera house-style concert hall is a historic city gem, adorned with angels, intricate domes and windows, and gold accents. To offset the extravagance of Bass Hall, we chose simple but sumptuous styles. The bride’s off-the-shoulder gown had just enough structure to match the strong architecture around her, while still adding a feminine fluidity. Her Old Hollywood hair, shaped into a low sculptural chignon, was a daring yet classic choice. Gorgeous ribbon from FrouFrou Chic and a vintage ring from Trumpet and Horn were perfect touches to complement the antique feel of the venue. And as a final elegant detail, the bride’s hair was adorned with a veil, then a green and cream floral hairpiece.

The light, airy, and impressive interior of the hall was our inspiration for the bright, open blossoms in bouquets and table arrangements created by Bows and Arrows. Chairs and linens in a stark white echoed the stately venue and let the flowers take center stage. Cascading greens crossed tables, and sweet pink florals were a playful and organic contrast to the otherwise proper place settings. For even more visual interest, we chose both taper and pillar candles, as well as minimalist table numbers by Alli K Design that featured whisper-thin floral illustration. Kayla Barker captured all of this in stunning photos that harnessed the sunlight beaming through Bass Hall’s windows.

5 Tips to Throw a Fab Bachelorette Weekend On a Budget

Original Source:

One of the best things about being a bride is coming up with any excuse to wrangle up your gals. But let’s face it, sometimes we’ve got to celebrate on a budget. There are so many easy ways to save a little cash along the way, and today we’re sharing how to throw that fabulous bachelorette weekend without forcing your bridesmaids into bankruptcy.

Keep it local

From college roomies to primary school BFFs, we all have those close girlfriends from all over the globe. Pick a spot that’s convenient for the majority of your girl gang to avoid $500 flights to Vegas and a hotel tab to match. Trust me, they will be so grateful! If you are planning a jet-setting party, try to chip in where possible; pick up the tab at the bar one night or surprise your bridesmaids with a limo to dinner as a fun thank you.

Spread out the fun!

Plan a few easy events throughout the weekend so if someone can’t make it to the dinner on Friday night, they can meet you for mimosas and manis Saturday afternoon! This is also an easy way to avoid the intense fifty-six email chain between your bridesmaids to pick the perfect evening date.

The more the merrier

If you have lots of friends from every stage of your life (middle school, college, that old waitressing gig) inviting the same gals to your bridal shower as your bachelorette party will make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Your wedding is also about bringing different groups of friends and family together, and it’s such a blast to see them have fun together!

Check, please – headache free

Find all-inclusive deals such as Prix Fixe menus and $20 bottomless to avoid the dreaded group check payments. It will guarantee your transition from dinner to dancing goes off without a hitch!

Do you!

Chances are your girl gang knows you better than you think they do. They are excited to celebrate with you, so create a fun hashtag to document your shenanigans, do what makes you laugh and celebrate in style. The most important tip is to have fun and do not forgot those Thank You notes!

Bonus: DIY Bachelorette Party Goodie Bags!

18 Ideas For Your Wedding Day Mani (Plus Expert Tips for Making it Last!)

Original Source:

We often talk about hair and make-up here at Bridal Musings, but we don’t talk nearly enough about nails.

Your wedding day mani is an excuse to play around with your look, it can be classic and elegant, bold and fashion forward, or fun and quirky.

But whether you go for wild nail art or a barely there blush, your hands will play a centre stage role in your day. They’re a big part of vows (with this ring etc…), all your friends will want to see them, and chances are your photographer will be snapping them a lot too.

So, it’s good to put a little thought into how you want them to look.

Blush + Blow’s Top 5 Tips for Your Wedding Day Mani

As you might remember, I popped into gorgeous London beauty salon Blush + Blow before my wedding for a bit of hand pampering. So I figured, who better to hit up for some expert tips on how to get the most from your bridal manicure?

  1. One to two weeks prior to the wedding, start the daily moisturising process with a cream and a serum or oil.
  2. After a few days, when the hands and nails are well hydrated the hands and feet will be ready for filing, buffing and cuticle work.
  3. We recommend a gel as opposed to regular polish as it lasts longer. There’s nothing worse than chipped nails being photographed with a brand new wedding ring!
  4. French polish, nude, or a light pink are the perfect colours to use for your special day with a nice square or oval shaped nail.
  5. Our top colour recommendations: Mademoiselle and Ballet Slippers by Essie.

Now you know how to prep your hands for your pre-wedding mani pedi, now you need to decide how you want your bridal nails to look!

From twists on a French polish to cool retro geometry, chic matte tones to real foil metallics, with gel technology and new products on the market, there’s never been a better time to play around with your polish, and there’s never been so many options for painting your wedding nails.

Which one is your favourite? Full disclosure, that last shot (with all the rings!) are my wedding day nails. I went for an off-white look for something that was neutral but still modern and a little bold.

I really love the matte and nude tones though, and I’m rather partial to a cornflower blue or grey on a bride too!

A Modern Wedding Planned in 3 Months!

Original Source:

Can we all agree that Ese and Jack deserve some sort of wedding planning medal? I certainly think so. Because these two pulled off one incredible day in just three months, planning the entire celebration from soup to nuts. Their priorities? Beautiful venue, pretty florals, and amazing photography. Check, check and check. More from Sawyer Baird in The Vault.

From The Bride…We wanted a very small, intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. We planned the entire wedding ourselves and started just three months prior to our big day. With so little planning time, we decided to pick a few priorities and trust that everything else would come together. For us those priorities were a beautiful venue, pretty florals, and our amazing photographer- Sawyer Baird.

Our vision for the day centered around a romantic/natural feel and small, beautiful details. It was important to us that the day feel authentically us, so we incorporated personalized details throughout the day. For example, plants are very special to us so we made succulent favors for all of our guests. Also, we met in Atlanta and JCT Kitchen was a restaurant that we frequented prior to choosing it as our venue. We knew their amazing food would be something that our guests would enjoy.

We had also heard from so many couples that the day would go by so fast. Our goal really was to enjoy the day and savor one of the most special days of our journey together. As such, we spent the morning of the wedding getting ready together in our home- just the two of us. This ended up being one of the best parts of our day. Everything truly turned out amazing and we wouldn’t change a thing!

A Pink Al Fresco Wedding Fit for a Foodie

Original Source:

If you were a guest at Dana and Edaan’s wedding, not only would you enjoy the design magic of Moonmilk Event Studio, but you’d be indulging in a carefully curated menu of jalepeño margaritas and pomegranate mojitos alongside eats like braised tacos and sashimi. These two foodies wanted a wedding that gave their people a party to remember, and Nicole Clarey photographed all the fun.

From Moonmilk Event Studio… Upon meeting with Dana and Edaan, we knew that we wanted to design a wedding that was reflective of their fun and youthful energy. We decided on a summer wedding with the beautiful Hummingbird Nest Ranch as the backdrop for the nuptials. Taking cues from the surrounding landscape, we opted to include an abundance of bougainvillea throughout the wedding to compliment the various event spaces and add to the color palette. After entering the ranch, guests sipped on jalepeño margaritas and pomegranate mojitos as they surrounded the outdoor pool which was decorated with rose petals in bright hues and candles placed in floating bamboo trays.

Dana and Edaan are both self-confessed foodies so we curated a menu that included fun elements like a braised taco station and a sashimi station to keep guests intrigued during the cocktail hour. For the reception, we came up with the idea of incorporating wood arbors above the dining tables to create a more intimate space for guests to enjoy dinner al fresco. Each wood arbor was adorned with climbing roses, flowering jasmine, and bougainvillea to give guests the impression that the arbors were permanent structures on the lawn.

Guests danced the night away on a seamless dark burgundy dance floor as the custom D and E marquee sign glowed in the background. The festivities continued until the wee hours of the night and concluded with a late night visit by an In-N-Out Truck to make sure guests had the perfect ending to this memorable event under the stars.

A Vintage Gown + Crown Took This Bride’s Look to the Next Level

Original Source:

It’s official. I want to steal everything about the bride, Britta’s style. The Gossamer blush gown. The Miu Miu peep-toe shoes. And the vintage gold crown fit for a princess. “Obsessed” is putting it lightly and thanks to the dream team of Lindsey Brunk on design and Brett Heidebrecht behind the lens, we have the entire celebration right at your fingertips.

Al Fresco

From Lindsey BrunkBritta and Reeve’s intimate backyard wedding was held at their home in Oklahoma City on a perfect summer evening. They wanted a simple wedding with live music, delicious drinks and personal details.

Guests were invited to gather for pre ceremony cocktails while the bride and groom enjoyed a first look and a private toast of their own upstairs, overlooking the festivities. The band paused and Reeve walked his bride down the aisle to exchange their vows under a gorgeous tree adorned with string lights. The ceremony was framed by fresh lavender bushes the bride and groom had planted with their wedding in mind, and after saying “I do” guests tossed fresh lavender in celebration.

Britta wore a blush vintage gown and crown by Gossamer and carried a stunning bouquet created by Yellow Rose Co. Other details of the day included a whimsical Rifle Paper Co. Invitation suite, elegant Anthropologie glassware and an after party at the nearby Aloft hotel.
