Intimate Fall Wedding with a Family-Style Dinner

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/6UBLZxpjcjE/

Fall brides, take note because this wedding is one day that’s guaranteed to inspire. With a decidedly autumn color palette and a picturesque natural setting, the bride and groom were able to wed in style with the amazing Rebecca Rose Events by their side. Ally and Bobby photographed the entire day, and these pretty captures are only the beginning. More this way!

From Rebecca Rose Event… Though they now live in Los Angeles, the bride and groom selected their venue, The Southeastern Center, for Contemporary Art, not only for it’s significance to them (the bride is an artist herself and used to teach at SECCA!), but also for the opportunity to exchange vows in front of the beautiful sprawling kudzu that they love! She grew up in Winston-Salem, NC so returning to the Southeast during the beauty of the fall season was a no-brainer.

The bride’s maternal family is from Colombia and the couple thoughtfully incorporated some beautiful touches of cultural tradition to their celebration. Guests dined on a family-style menu designed to feature tapas and paella that was served with wine and then danced into the wee hours to a variety of musical genres, including lots of salsa!

A Fresh, Clean & Classic Wedding Set in Northern California

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/wAsiShzqqy0/

If classic design moments speak to your soul, prepare to fall hard for this wedding photographed by Sylvie Gil. The pros at Florabella Studios took the bride’s vision of “Northern California chic” and translated that to a palette of soft neutrals paired with lush florals for a celebration that’s guaranteed to stand the test of time.

Katie and Tucker met in college at Washington & Lee and dated through the years before getting engaged in 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. Tucker orchestrated a luxurious spa day before he popped the question and then surprised Katie by inviting their families to celebrate at the hotel’s restaurant overlooking the ocean. The bride grew up in the Bay Area and dreamed of a wedding that embodied that “Northern California chic.”

After a heartfelt ceremony at the Church of the Nativity, they hosted an elegant reception at the Menlo Country Club, with views of the redwood-enclosed golf course beyond. Katie opted for a neutral palette of grays and whites, reflected in the simple linen and lush floral arrangements seen throughout the day. In the evening, Ground Control lit up the dance floor with a lively set until the bride and groom drove off in a vintage convertible to begin their next chapter as husband and wife.

It was a wonderful celebration that perfectly encapsulated Katie’s hometown in all its beauty.

The Most Romantic Pre-Wedding Ceremony We’ve Ever Seen

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/vmTYbs3NFaY/

If you caught a glimpse of their sand dunes engagement session, you probably already have a soft spot in your heart for Nikisa and Eric. These high-school sweethearts planned a meaningful wedding day with the help of Joy Proctor, including cultural details to honor Nikisa’s Persian heritage. Beginning with an intimate, family-only ceremony, they exchanged vows in a circle of candlelight followed by a formal outdoor ceremony and reception, all beautifully photographed in the way only Jose Villa can. Dive right in for a wedding day experience you won’t soon forget.

From the wedding planner, Joy Proctor It was an incredible honor to help Nikisa & Eric plan their celebration of love. As editor of The Fullest Magazine, bride Nikisa was passionate about inviting her guests to experience wellness and celebration through food and community at her wedding to high-school sweetheart, Eric. From the moment they began planning, Eric and Nikisa knew that food would be important to them and were passionate about every ingredient used in the dishes they served their guests.

Following the guidance of a mentor, Nikisa and Eric chose to exchange vows at 2:00 pm in front of their parents and siblings before holding a larger ceremony with all their guests at 5:00. Surrounded by a circle of candlelight, they stood under a chandelier dripping with strung hyacinth and exchanged vows. After a storm rolled in, the couple chose to keep their ceremony with guests outside and handed umbrellas out to guests upon arrival, welcoming the blessing from the skies.

To honor her beautiful Persian heritage, Mooncanyon created an organic, deconstructed sofreh for the ceremony. Spices, eggs, sugar and other meaningful items were placed amongst organic and wild greenery in a beautiful semicircle in which the ceremony for guests took place. As a nod to her grandfather, Nikisa chose a kumquat spritzer handed to guests upon arrival. Ring bearers carried meaningful crystals up the aisle in wooden dough bowls, placing the crystals in the sofreh to bless the space.

Escorted down the aisle by their dog Cessna, groom Eric wore a soft grey suit and natural leather shoes. Bride Nikisa entered the ceremony in a stunning custom Inbal Dror gown with her best friend – her Father Mohammad. As she carried a beautiful gathered bouquet of flowers, incense were burned, creating a beautiful and cleansed space for her arrival.

A beautiful wooden u-shaped structure draped in creme chiffon sat above guests dinner tables. Natural wood tables and chairs with linen runners sat under organic floral arrangements in wooden dough bowls. Collections of crystals and candles sat between floral arrangements. Chandeliers dripping with organic greenery hung above the guest tables. The color palette of creme, green and taupe was accented with gold and natural wood tones.

Lazaro Press created beautiful paper goods highlighting the couples love for organic papers and clean design. A custom monogram featuring four triangles inside a larger triangle with their initials graced the Save the Date, invites, menus, cocktail napkins and drink stirrers. Save the dates were printed in gold foil on octagonal creme paper. Invitations were sent in beautiful creme boxes with natural linen folios containing invites, info cards and RSVPS, all printed in gold foil on creme paper.

Modern Hollywood Wedding With Metallic Accents

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/OPGW_YFL_5w/

David and Grace wanted their wedding to feel like the ultimate staycation, so they booked their dream venue in Hollywood and began planning a weekend to remember. Opting for modern vibes and vibrant pops of color paired with copper accents made for a wedding that was anything but basic, all thanks to CCL Weddings & Events working by their side. Have a peek through the gallery and don’t miss this amazing moment captured by Sally Pinera below.

From the bride, Grace… David and I dated for seven years before we got married and throughout those years, our family and close friends grew to be a huge part of our relationship. For that reason, we wanted our wedding to feel like a weekend staycation where we could all hang out, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. We searched for the perfect venue and when we discovered Lombardi House in Hollywood, we instantly knew this dream of ours could become a reality. We booked the venue for the entire weekend and truly had the best weekend ever with our family and friends. We are so glad we made the decision to book our venue this way because we never once felt rushed to leave or get somewhere on time for the wedding.

Our wedding weekend would definitely not have been possible without Catherine Leo, our insanely gifted wedding coordinator. After brainstorming with her, we decided we wanted a modern, yet playful wedding with copper touches. She went over and beyond to make sure our wedding was personal and unique to us. For example, we used the tent David had built to propose to me to decorate the entrance guests would enter through.

Looking back, it’s definitely hard to choose, but there are two moments that stood out the most. The first was walking down the aisle reading the most precious letter David had written me. Catherine and David had schemed together during our wedding planning process and told me that we would be unable to do any decorations along the aisle. But right before I walked out, Catherine told me that David had written me a letter down the aisle to surprise me so that I could read it as I walked to the altar. I immediately teared up and could not stop crying the entire time. The second moment was right after the ceremony when David and I got to enjoy some time to ourselves. We were on such a high talking about how we could not believe we were finally married and we were so excited to spend the rest of the night with those closest to us. Even now, we wish we could relive this weekend all over again!

Intimate Cliffside Wedding With Stunning Views

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/FBTaWv1Kstg/

Perched on a cliff above the dramatic Big Sur coastline, we exchanged vows in front of our parents, siblings, niece, and newborn nephew,” the bride said. It was everything the couple wanted, including an incredible coastal setting with their nearest and dearest along to celebrate. Sally Pinera told the story of the day through her lens and every image is one perfect moment after the next.

Words by the bride… Both born and raised in Vancouver, Evan and I feel most at home where the water laps the land. We had long held that an intimate coastal ceremony, with our immediate families, in a place where we could soak up each other’s company, eat, drink, and be merry (and married!), was truest to us as a couple.

We met serendipitously seven years ago at a local dive bar, where I spotted Ev from across the room. Mere minutes later, I walked over to tell him that he looked “so familiar” (he did!). Convinced it was nothing more than a conventional pick-up line, Ev nonetheless entertained the sentiment and offered me a drink. Boy, did I hope it would be the first of many more.

Four years later, we moved abroad to Luxembourg to fulfill our work and wanderlust dreams. Before our second summer’s end, Ev planned a trip to the Algarve, Portugal. But, when we boarded the plane, my mind was so preoccupied with finishing a project that I neglected to realize that he hadn’t been in his seat for 30 minutes. Slowly, I started to hear music on the speakers, and I remember thinking how I had never heard RyanAir broadcast in-flight entertainment. A few moments later, realizing that it was Evan’s voice behind the instrument, I glanced up and saw him walking down the aisle, ukulele in hand, singing a song he had wrote for me. Everyone began clapping along, and when he arrived at my seat, he got down on bended knee and proposed. Thinking about that moment still stops time.

A year later, Evan was offered an exciting role with his firm in San Francisco, and I was thrilled to finish my Ph.D. from California. With only six months left in Luxembourg, we repurposed our wedding plans, and soon Big Sur became our inspiration and our backdrop.

On October 24, perched on a cliff above the dramatic Big Sur coastline, we exchanged vows in front of our parents, siblings (my sister was my MoH, and Ev’s brothers his groomsmen), niece (our flower girl) and newborn nephew. Following the ceremony, we proceeded to Pfeiffer Beach for photos, and finished the day the back at home, in the best way we know how: dinner, dessert (celebration cake, to be sure!), and dancing under a canopy of stars. I go back to that evening often, reliving the unforgettable speeches, the arresting views of the Pacific, and the sounds of glasses clinking, waves crashing, and our closest laughing.

Our incredible chef, Jamie Jarrard, prepared indelible dishes using only local, organic, and seasonal ingredients, sourced primarily from Big Sur’s bountiful farm markets. Our florist, Christine Cater, also sourced florals from California, and her incomparable talent could have only been outdone by her generosity, grace, and gregarious spirit.

The rest of our sunny Big Sur days were spent exploring outside, and we capped off the southern part of our stay with a 1:00 am dip at the Esalen hot springs. Not before long, we were in Carmel and Sonoma, planning how we could do it all over again. It was a week we could never forget, and we are profoundly grateful to have it filled with everyone and everything we love most.

A Sleek, Modern Jewel Tone Wedding

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/hThunL3WQEA/

This couple chose a bold palette for their Alys Beach wedding, and to say we’re obsessed is a serious understatement. Exhibit A – the florals by Myrtie Blue that served as the perfect dose of color for an all-white bridal party and their chic, modern reception…not to mention the dreamy floating lanterns hung above the dance floor. True to form, Lauren Kinsey brought her A-game behind the camera and we’ve got every jewel toned second waiting for you here.

From Lauren KinseyWhen it came to planning her own wedding, Jamie of Fancy Events knew just what would fit the bill. Jamie loves hints of modern mixed with pops of color, so Alys Beach was the natural choice of venue with it’s clean, modern style architecture.

Her choices of jewel tones against the stark white exteriors was a beautiful combination, and Brian from Myrtie Blue pulled her vision together flawlessly with delicate florals set behind structured clear glass displays.

The showstopper was the hundred floating lanterns above the dance floor underneath a clear top tent, giving the feeling of dancing the night away under the stars.

A Spring Wedding That Brings the Outdoors In

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/YfG9HU-nib0/

Despite popular belief, you don’t have to have an outdoor wedding for a true garden-style affair. Just take it from Ansley and Brandon who let fresh greens and glowing lanterns line their ceremony aisle. With the use of lush florals and styled greenery, they celebrated with an indoor garden oasis and we have Anna Shackleford + Daniel Shackleford to thank documenting as the day unfolded.

Please upgrade your browser

When Ansley and Brandon met through a mutual friend while she was working at Chick-fil-A they knew it was something special. Fast forward to years later, and on December 31, 2016 Ansley and Brandon gathered with their friends and family at Ansley’s parents’ house to ring in the new year. Little did she know Brandon had his own idea of “ringing” in the new year. At the strike of midnight as she leaned in for her midnight kiss. he was getting down on one knee holding a box with the most beautiful ring inside and asking her to marry him. She dropped her horn and took a step back in disbelief and excitement. She was shocked and overjoyed, to say the least. New Year’s 2011 as the clock hit 12 Brandon asked her to be his girlfriend. Five amazing years later she became his fiance.

Ansley knew that she wanted and whimsical and enchanted theme throughout her wedding day. She chose Ashton Gardens for its large windows and magical feel. It was the perfect space for their celebration. Donuts and bacon surrounded the stunning cake by Kelly Keith and they danced the night away to music provided by Nice Entertainment.

A Garden Wedding Inspired by the Couple’s Love of Art

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/Fx8sSwAwccA/

It’s not every day you come across a wedding quite as striking as this. And that’s saying a lot coming from an editor who sees pretty amazing nuptials on the reg. No surprise, vendor masterminds like A Modern Plan were behind the scenes on the making of this art-inspired celebration, and our beloved Jose Villa worked his usual magic behind the lens.

From the planner, A Modern PlanKatie + Clark are both from Alaska. They met in high school and are simply the most lovely couple. They share a strong love of art and traveling. Their wedding was filled with lots of personal touches. Katie’s love of the quaint flower shops in Paris was echoed in the beautiful abundant blooms displayed in vintage flower buckets by Brown Paper Design.

Clark and Katie’s affection of the arts was seen throughout their day. In the programs created by the bride and also their menus. Each menu had a print of one of their favorite paintings or drawings. The week leading up to the wedding date showed rain in the forecast. The rain added such an intimate touch to their day. A beautiful tent was set up at Beaulieu Garden for their reception and guests gathered around their ceremony with clear umbrellas. Such a beautiful day.

An Entire Wedding Inspired by a Single Piece of Fabric

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/wZWkaSnhXXA/

I love when a wedding design is propelled by a single point of inspiration. And in this case, it was a simple piece of soft blue fabric found by the bride and her mom. That ribbon was a representation of the simple yet elegant day Claire and Robert wanted, and it resulted in a timeless celebration beautifully captured by Katie Grant.

From Katie Grant PhotographyClaire and Robert wanted a simple yet elegant wedding. A good band was a must along with a DJ to fill in the pauses. With both being busy doctors, they enlisted the help of Cathrin D’Entremont Weddings to help plan and style their wedding.

It all started with a piece of fabric Claire and her mum found in the perfect color blue. The dark Brentwood chairs for the ceremony and the Hampton chairs for the reception accompanied with custom-made napkins made from this perfect blue fabric. With the pre-dinner drinks being an hour long, we needed a stand-out seating chart.

Claire’s father was the perfect candidate to build this triangle tower where the seating cards were mounted. The middle table at the reception was the bridal table which was made to stand out with lanterns hanging in varying heights above. A dessert and cheese buffet followed the perfect meal, and everyone danced the evening away to the tunes of the band.
