How to Make Yellow the Star of Your Color Palette

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/cH8cigkgWTM/

For those of you that are looking for your daily dose of vitamin C, allow us to introduce you to the pretty that is this inspiration from Sylvie Gil Photography. It’s a saturated shoot that’s sure to warm up a chilly afternoon and thankfully we’ve got it all to share in The Vault!

From Carrie MoeI had a painting that inspired me for a long time with reds, blues, yellow and pinks that blended so beautifully. I wanted to try make a color palette that was different and unique but similar to the painting. We added in a touch of orange as well to really give it a pop and I am very pleased how the colors came together. We gave each artist (cake artist, invitation, backdrop etc) the same painting that inspired me and let them each mix the colors and blend them together. With so many combinations of colors it is easy to go off stray but each artist really did a beautiful job of interpreting the colors to them and kept them cohesive. The invitation designer used acrylic paints, the backdrop artist dyed papel picado paper and the cake designer used food paints and they all came together to really work so beautifully together.

Sweet Southern Wedding Inspiration With a Touch of Red

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/Zib4NpR5vNo/

We thought you could use a little morning pickmeup. Translation? It’s time to break out the beauty, which is why we’ve got this stunner of a styled shoot from Studio Elle Photography to share. A southern inspired day complete with cakes and desserts from Luna Bakery & Cafe (atop La Tavola Fine Linen Rental) that’ll have you spellbound. Dreamed up by the massively talented A Charming Fete, this is one wedding isnpiration that’s blooming with all types of beauty (including those magnivicent Molly Taylor and Co. designs). See it all for yourself in The Vault!

From A Charming FeteWhen Renee of Studio Elle Photography and Emily of Emily Millay Photography reached out to us to create something amazing for their Illuminate Gathering photography workshop we knew Moorland Mansion, a stoic, century old property would be the perfect spot. The huge white pillars and 360 degree surrounding weathered wood porch gave vibes of an elite southern mansion. Bailey of Molly Taylor and Co. Created a breathtaking arrangement for a beautiful ancient tree on the back lawn for the couple to say their vows beneath. A luxe, dusty rose velvet linen on the dining table pulled in the perfect amount of feminine softness accented with rich claret hues. The cane back dining chairs, French scalloped plates and eggshell linen napkins elevated the tablescape to a perfect level of formality along with beautiful calligraphy details.

The bride wore a breathtaking Claire Pettibone gown and vintage inspired engagement ring. The fondant blush petal texture of the cake and petite pastries played into a feminine southern vibe, we even had an appearance by Ralph a sweet, blind Old English Sheepdog rescue. He stole the show posing proudly in his floral collar. It was a beautiful day!

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/lr3BiHCY4ls/

Pack your bags dear readers because we’re headed to California. Specifically, Carmel Valley so we can revel in the pretty that is this inspiration from Samantha Kirk Photography. From the Gavita Flora blooms, to the lovely La Tavola Fine Linen Rental, to the fabulous Bright Event Rentals, we’ve got a preview of the pretty waiting for you to pin in The Vault!

From Gavita FloraThe backdrop of our shoot is the beautiful garden of Bernardus Lodge, which is nestled in the scenic rolling hills of Carmel Valley. Inspired by the natural beauty of the rose garden, as well as the luxurious interiors of the lodge, we wanted to create a design that felt romantic, elegant, and dreamy. Velvet linens in the prettiest shades of lavender gray and lilac, lush florals in mauvey pinks and creams, and hints of gold and burgundy accents are some of the details that make this shoot simply charming.

A Storybook Parisian Wedding Inspiration That’s Fit for Fiction

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/KJ07cPHDkMU/

If you need me, I’ll be spending the rest of the day (if not the entire week/month/year/decade/lifetime) in this perfect little gallery. Because when you combine the incomparable talents of Bows and Arrows and Greg Finck Photography at the incredibly inspiring Joy Proctor Design workshop you know you’re in for a real treat. An inspiration that’s sure to ignite your wanderlust, you’re invited to peruse the pretty via The Vault!

From Joy Proctor DesignI was honored to host a workshop on intentional design and thoughtful styling workshop in Paris this spring alongside an incredible team of vendors, and a talented group of participants. As part of the workshop, I invited participants to look at my creative process as I shot an editorial alongside Greg Finck and Alica Rico of Bows and Arrows.

The editorial was inspired by the incredible historic room in which we shot. The room had recently been painted, and its former butter yellow hue inspired the palette of yellow, light blue and rose. Presenting the colors in an elegant way was something that was very important to me. I chose a beautiful velvet linen from La Tavola to set the color story in the room. Bows and Arrows created the most lovely floral arrangements that brought the yellow and rose into the room. The room has stunning painted frescos in each corner, which inspired the rose and burgundy in the editorial. We lined incredible yellow and light blue suite by Written Word Calligraphy with similar paintings to highlight the history and significance of the room. The Cake Opera created the most intricate, stunning cake inspired by the former color of the room.

To tell the story of a wealthy Nobleman’s daughter who fell in love with a farm hand, we were lucky enough to have the incredible Yolan Cris create stunning tops and gowns just for the editorial, which paired perfectly with the burgundy suite worn by the groom. Harold James created a soft, feminine look for the bride, upon which we add a stunning veil by Twigs and Honey and Claire Pettibone ring from Trumpet and Horn.

Pastel Wedding Inspiration Complete with Foraged Blooms

Original Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/typepad/style_me_pretty/~3/2Uh4DwRnofo/

If this bouquet is any indication it just goes to show that nature always provides. Because this heavenly handful? It was (believe it or not) mostly foraged finds thanks to the madly talented Colonial House of Flowers. From there it’s a day layered with elegance and delicious details – like this pretty from Savannahs Hall of Cakes! All in all it’s a inspo captured by Jeremy Chou Photography that you’re sure to love and we’ve got it all in The Vault.

From Colonial House of FlowersJust above Savannah, Georgia and below Charleston, Okatie sits in the most gorgeous coastal countryside you’ve ever seen. This region also boasts some of the most talented vendors in the South East. For this workshop, the lovely ladies of Design Studio South collaborated with the uber talented designer Tristan Needham and when they asked us to be a vendor, we knew we had to be involved.

By incorporating a floral recipe that included greenery foraged up to the last minute and even blooms clipped by my daughter and sister from my own garden, I helped welcome the group of photographers the most natural way I could, amid the Spanish moss and 600 year old oaks.
